Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky.
THIS SONG IS PRETTY. :D
i'm going to blog away my one hour break (before i have to rush out.) -.-
...three weeks into the holidays and i realise that i haven't done any holiday homework. :D
and the two chinese book probably are in some dark unnoticeable corner.
with a five inch thick layer of dust on them. :}
bahhh, shall have to de-dust them very soon. D:
maybe i'll do like, the physics ACP thingy tonight.
most probably not. seeing that i may be coming home rather late later. :}
fine, tomorrow. I'LL DO PHYSICS TOMORROW. :D
unfortunately chinese seems to be the sub with the most number of assignments. wtheck?
I LOATHE CHINESE HOMEWORK.
'hate' is too neutral a word. when applied to chinese homework, that is. {:
bah. enough. bah.
SUNHONEYED
is there such a word? but i think it's pretty all the same. :}
THE WARM AND THE COLD
Freezing dusk is closing
Like a slow trap of steel
On trees and roads and hills and all
That can no longer feel.
But the carp is in its depth
Like a planet in its heaven.
And the badger in its bedding
Like a loaf in the oven.
And the butterfly in its mummy
Like a viol in its case.
And the owl in its feathers
Like a doll in its lace.
Freezing dusk has tightened
Like a nut screwed tight
On the starry aeroplane
Of the soaring night.
But the trout is in its hole
Like a chuckle in a sleeper.
The hare strays down the highway
Like a root going deeper.
The snail is dry in the outhouse
Like a seen in a sunflower.
The owl is pale on the gatepost
Like a clock on its tower.
Moonlight freezes the shaggy world
Like a mammoth of ice -
The past and the future
Are in the jaws of a steel vice.
But the cod is in the tide-rip
Like a key in a purse.
The deer are on the bare-brown hill
Like smiles on a nurse.
The flies are behind the plaster
Like the lost score of a jig.
Sparrows are in the ivy-clump
Like money in a pig.
Such a frost
The flimsy moon
Has lost her wits.
A star falls.
The sweating farmers
Turn in their sleep
Like oxen on spits.
{ TED HUGHES }
i think this poem is pretty. though i don't really understand it. um, but it gives me the impression of a winter night. it's pretty. :}
i'll never be able to write like that. D:
the way the poet describes is really pretty.
"And the owl in its feathers
Like a doll in its lace"
and speaking of poems, i don't plan to take literature. :}
I HATE, i mean, I LOATHE LOAAAAATHE WRITING STUFF ON THE POEM. like you know. answering the deep and profound and plain stupid time-wasting brain-juice-consuming questions they base on the poem.
and i hate writing essays based on the questions (based on the story). i mean i loathe.
you get the point. imagine three more years of writing rubbish based on a poem that i may not like (i.e. The Boxer) and stupid essays on random stories (i.e. Pritave Eloy). though private eloy was good. :D
but the other one about chess was ... ... :l (it's Rules Of The Game, right?)
maybe it's 'cause i never got to understand the beauty of chess. {COUGH}
the storyline for big bill was um, creative. but it wasn't really bad. :D
it's the essay writing that sucks. (i mean the other way, not the um, action involving your mouth and uh, throat. something.)
i have thrown the literature book away. :}
(as in, to the back of the shelf)
anyway, I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN HAVING HOLIDAY HOMEWORK.
aren't holidays supposed to be for the emptying of your brain (for bits of fluff to move in, of course.)?
um, so that your brain, now sufficiently EMPTY (and fluff-y) will be ready to ABSORB all the new facts (coupled with plain rubbish) the next year? crap.
and there's chinese homework. flower.
LOTS of stupid chinese homework. flowerrrr.
bah. ):
my holidays are ruuuuuuuined. D:
i feel like going to the beach again now. i usedd to love going to pasir ris park when i was little. i still love going to the beach. except now i do prefer east coast. :D
i am fully aware that i am missing out on frigging truckloads of FUN ACTIVITIES because of the two mindchamp-related courses. i'm going to miss like, three guitar thingys. and MOVIES. especially movies. and outings. D: bah, i dislike full-day courses. but i dont know, i've heard that it'll be cool. i'm in two minds. :l
but skipping the course is by no means an option i have. Thanks lots, mother.
sorry everyone. }:
