note: i don't know why i'm calling you all ostriches but it's fun enough:D
i mean it this time. i can get rly violent when i want to (as demonstrated.)
& i can be rly rly cold and mean and cruel and evil and and and bad when i want to so please stop it. actually, think i'll go on ignoring you for the rest of forever - unless you stop it. (:
anyway. actually i'm posting because i'm trying to work up enough writing juice to finish the two pieces of writing we have to do for english. the ideal companion and the hottest teacher, no? :D
blargh.
CNY has always been boring. unfortunately society nowdays is starting to forsake traditional stuff, unless recieving money is involved.
either way, i'm going to mug this new year. how sad. ):
anyway. i've been reading this book (YES I'M A NERD SO BEAT IT) & uh, yar. it talks a little on Communism. and guess what i have concluded?
ANGLICAN HIGH IS TEETHERING ON THE EDGES OF COMMUNISM!
yes, cover your eyes/ears in disbelief. and faint from shock. something.
anyway right. i don't think it's all thaaaaat accurate because:
(1) i'm a major massive melodramaic drama queen
(2) i don't really understand communism that well, so all this is based on what i read in the book.
(4) i don't rly do politics
(3) i'm really disgusted with the school's government right now so i guess i'm biased.
HENCE, any (self proclaimed or otherwise) expert on communism should not read or take seriously the following since it's all uh, just some random (&probably underdeveloped/immature) thoughts (of a recently-turned-fourteen-year-old) put into words so it's not rly creditable or anything. :D
& i'm just writing for fun and to work myself up into a writing mood so yar.
anyway. the definition of communism, as from dictonary.com would be:
com·mu·nism /ˈkɒmyəˌnɪzəm/ [kom-yuh-niz-uhm]
–noun
1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.
2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
3. (initial capital letter) the principles and practices of the Communist party.
4. communalism.
there you go.
look at no.2 in particular:
2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all
economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by
a single and self-perpetuating political party.
that, is, like, so, AHS right now.
and if you don't understand what totalitarian means;
to·tal·i·tar·i·an /toʊˌtælɪˈtɛəriən/ [toh-tal-i-tair-ee-uhn]I MEAN THAT IS LIKE REALLY SO ANGLICAN HIGH RIGHT NOW OKAY.
–adjective
1. of or pertaining to a centralized government that does not tolerate parties of differing opinion and that exercises dictatorial control over many aspects of life.
2. exercising control over the freedom, will, or thought of others; authoritarian; autocratic.
please, ever since this school year started our voices/thoughts/opinions have been smothered by what, senseless, and often ineffective school rules. since when, have, we, been, given, a, say, since, this, year, started, eh?
okay maybe i'm overreacting and have been given a say but i just didn't notice it (yar fat hope) but then again this is how i feel so, blargh.
communism - earlier on in the book it seemed wonderful, a new, disciplined prospect of life. but then later on you see the ugly side. there's this line in the book - 'suffering will make you a better communist'. communism, as described in the book, was a 'peasant revolution'. if you had the slightest bit of education, you were automatically deemed an 'intellectual', and being an 'intellectual' was a big no-no. another big communist thing was trying to not be bourgeois. the persecution and obliteration of apparently bourgeois people was taken to such a great extent that even the slightest bit of concern for your own personal health, safely, blah was labelled 'bourgeois'.
(personally i found that similar to how the school's pouncing on and punishing of the students who have hair that is 'unbefitting'. how even those with normal and perfectly acceptable fringes not a hair out of place [or in this case, regulations] were made to cut/pin them up.)
stupid, isn't it.
unveiling the mstermind: Mao. the person behind the whole communist thing. similar enough to our dear, beloved, understanding, caring, kind, compassionate, oh-so-stunningly-beautiful, youthful and what-not You-Know-Who.
another communist biggie was this obsession with discipline. i mean, discipline so out of hand that even the slightest bending (not breaking, mind) of rules meant that you were severely punished.
anyway, there was this 'anti-rightist campaign' waged by our dear Mao. during the campaign, anyone could be denounced for just a mindless comment, a distant relationship with an alleged rightist, or even no reason at all. after the whole procedure, barely anyone dared to speak up, voice their opinions. good old Mao wanted a monopoly of peoples' minds, and that was exactly what he got.
that seems to me like what the school's intent on doing: enjoying a totalitarian control over us mindless people.
